Wow, did it ever snow at the beach! Friday night, I got up around 2 because I was dying of thirst and also, it was about one hundred degrees in our room. I went downstairs to get some water and I watched the snow just pouring out of the sky. I wondered if the marathon start time might be pushed back due to the weather, but when I checked online, I discovered that it had been completely cancelled! I knocked a coaster off the counter, made a bunch of racket and went back upstairs to tell David, who I awoke out of a sound sleep. He grunted at me, turned off his alarm and went back to sleep.
In the morning, David grumped about the marathon being cancelled for a while and then went out to find us some breakfast. A seagull pooped on him in the grocery store parking lot which made David even crabbier, plus he was ticked that the roads were completely clear. David did admit that he was kind of glad he hadn't trained very hard because he would have been really disappointed otherwise.

It was really pretty though. We drove by the house we rent in the summer and it was so odd to see it covered in white. Luckily, the outlets were still open so we headed down there, shopped for a while and ate lunch at River City Cafe. Then Barb and I dropped the boys and Maggie back at the house to take naps and we returned to the outlets to finish our shopping. Maggie made out like a bandit. I always get her spring wardrobe on marathon weekend and this year was no different. It was LOTS of fun.
Did you take a picture of the Little Acorn covered in snow? I bet it looked more at home in the snow than it does in the summer. I am, however, so glad it's at the beach and can't wait to get there this summer!
