5.21.10

Alrighty! Let's recap this weekend, shall we? We had a great time visiting Meredith and Joe and of course, getting to meet our god-daughter, Felicity! So, Friday, I had ingeniously made our flight reservation for 7:35. We needed to get up to NYC to do as much baby gazing as possible! Of course, that also meant getting up at 4:15. UGH. We got to the airport in record time and were able to procure some Starbucks after passing security. We boarded the plane on time and proceeded to sit at the gate for an hour. We had a tight connection in Atlanta which we did NOT make. We did make a valiant dash down to our gate anyway. We were promptly booked on the next flight which was in another concourse at the other end of the airport! Awesome! We boarded and found out we were 16th in line to take off.

Apparently, I did not take any pictures on Friday for whatever reason, so here's what Maggie was doing with my parents while we were gone. She and my mom baked a LOT, which is a big deal, because my mother does not relinquish control of the kitchen easily. Well, David did take approximately 58603 pictures out the airplane window but I chose not to download those and muddy my hard drive.

Anyway. We finally made it to LaGuardia and hopped in a cab. Oh yeah, we were "Expert Travelers" and went carry on only. Not picking up baggage sure does make things easier. I have been to NYC several times and let me tell you, one does not get used to those cab rides. Everyone who said the cab drivers in China were crazy had never been in a NYC taxi. Of course, there were about 10 zillion more cars on the roads in China so the cab drivers didn't have the space to go from 0 to 90 mph and back in the span of 1 city block. We got to our cheapy hotel that was actually nice and clean, albeit SMALL, dropped off our stuff and headed over to see Miss Felicity! Ooooh, y'all, she is sooo cute! I do love a bald headed baby. She is also very snuggly and fit nicely in my arms. I was nursing a horrid cold at the time so I didn't want to be breathing all over her, but I did get to cuddle with her for a bit. We mostly just hung out and visited on Friday. We also walked over to Central Park with Joe and the dog for a while as well. After dinner, David and I got very tired and went back to the hotel and were both asleep before 9. We are exciting!
