Thursday was a rainy day at the beach. While it's super nice to sit on the porch all day long and listen to the rain falling, 4 year olds do not always agree. So we decided to take Maggie to see Toy Story 3 at the theater. She liked this movie much better than Princess and the Frog but still wanted to know when it was going to be over. Maggie much prefers being able to move and mess around and sit upside down in her chair while she watches movies. Also, she wasn't too psyched at the thought of wearing 3-D glasses but she kept them on for the majority of the movie. The end was, well, a little sad and Maggie cried! She has such a tender heart. By the time the movie was over, the sun had come out but we decided that we would take a day off from the beach and hang out at Broadway at the Beach. A GREAT decision, in my opinion.

We hit Joe's Crab Shack for an early dinner and holy cow, it was so delicious. We ordered a giant steampot of crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, sausage and corn and YUM. I had never cracked open crab legs before and I must say, I initially thought it might be gross, but let me assure you, it was NOT. So yummy.

We also got dessert. Uh. It was awesome. Then I saw a picture of myself later on and I was kind of sorry that I had eaten dessert. Oh well.

David promised Maggie something from Build-a-Bear because he is a sucker for his little girl and she certainly needed another stuffed animal. So, Maggie selected this panda and named it Bamboo (we may have helped with the name; otherwise it would probably be named Bear). Then she TOILED over selecting an outfit for it. After David refused to purchase a stroller, a baby carrier and a chair, she finally settled on this red polka dot dress and a horrible pleather purse with a giant rhinestone heart on it. Very Maggie.

THEN, we went and played mini golf. Y'all! We had the biggest day ever because I am still not done describing it! Mini golf was SUPER fun. Four has been the best year yet at the beach. I would like for you to check out Maggie's stance? form? above. She seemed to think the golf club would be better served as a bludgeon and we had to spend some time helping her arrange her hands.

Then, Maggie and I rode the tea cups and WHEW. I am too old for that mess. Maggie also got to ride these little race cars. Then it was time to head for home because it was almost 10:00 and Maggie didn't take a nap at all that day.

Someone did not want the fun to end and wasn't too happy about having to leave before she was done. Then she fell asleep about 3 minutes into the car ride and slept until 9:30 the next morning, which was awesome in its own way.
Ahh, rainy day fun at the beach doesn't get any better. Just be glad Maggie doesn't request her own crab dinner at Joe's. Ian made the mistake of letting Kylie try his one year and we've been paying for a $9 kids meal every time we've gone since...
