7.29.10

I don't even know how to write this post.  Our house was broken into while we were gone and we were robbed.  I took a whole bunch of pictures of the house but I'm not putting them all on here.  Our kitchen window was broken and then the thieves opened the sliding glass door and let themselves out, after stealing most of our valuables.

The TV, computers, DVD player and Wii can all be replaced.

I'm just sick that the gifts we bought in China for Maggie for when she's older were taken.  All the money was taken from her piggy bank.  My  jade bracelet from China is gone, as are my black pearls.  A flash drive with every.single.picture we've taken since we got Maggie's referral is gone.

What a mess.
But, life goes on.
We learn to deal with it and make better choices in the future.
And hope that the regret fades with time.

  1. That makes ME so mad! I cannot believe the heartlessness of people...to take things that mean so much to others. The China stuff is bad enough, but a flash drive with photos? Oh. Makes my heart ache for you.

  2. This makes me feel sick. I can see taking money and jewelry and electronics, but flash drives and small gifts from China -- and of course, the money from a child's piggy bank, for Pete's sake -- is so beyond the pale. What value could those things have to anyone other than you?

  4. This happened to my friend here in Michigan a few months ago. They took her jewelry box and all the electronics. I understand that some things are totally irreplacable. Thiking of you in thoughts are prayers.
