9.13.10

Maggie's daycare is having their 5 star rating review in a few weeks and all of the classrooms are supposed to have examples of 3-D art that shows family involvement (i.e., something complicated that the parents make).  Or something like that.  Anyway, they had a signup sheet and a bunch of different projects for the families to choose from.  Maggie and I went through all of the project instructions and she selected a magic wand.  I was glad she picked that one because one of the other choices was to make a cardboard dollhouse.  NO.  Also, the projects were due today and you know we waited until 5:00 yesterday to make the magic wand.

David and Maggie found a stick in the backyard and carefully peeled all the bark off of it.  Then David pulled out a bunch of our Christmas ribbon and wrapped it all around the wand.  Maggie did not watch nor did she even appear to care that her daddy was making her project.

We packed it in Maggie's backpack this morning and she and David went off to school as usual.  When I picked her up this afternoon, the magic wand was still in her cubby.  I asked her if she showed it to her teachers.
"No, I forgot."

Argggggh.  My child is the biggest dingdong ever.
