4.8.11

We go to David's mom's for dinner and a movie on almost every Friday night.  We started that tradition when we were living with David's dad and felt like maybe we needed to give him and Barb a little break from us on a weekly basis.  We have continued this tradition and I truly look forward to it each week.  ReRe usually picks Maggie up at daycare on Fridays and then we all meet up at her house.  This week, however, ReRe tripped and fell in the parking lot of the daycare and smashed up her face.  911 was called and an ambulance was dispatched.  She did not want to go in the ambulance but she did grudgingly agree to go to the hospital with David.  All that to say, we did not go to ReRe's for our Friday night dinner this week.  I picked Maggie up (who was on the playground and none the wiser about her bruised up grandma) and told her I would take her to dinner at the restaurant of her choice.  We went home first for a shower because Maggie was a sweaty and sandy girl.

Maggie chose Sonic (always okay with me!) and picked a corn dog for dinner.  I'm so proud.  Corndogs and her pajamas.  We are classy.  And if you are friends with me on Facebook, it was Maggie who had on the nightgown and high heels.  Not me.  I told Maggie I would take her to Walmart and buy her a Tangled doll but then she decided that she needed to choose between that and the cherry in my cherry limeade.  And she chose the cherry.  Um, okay.  I got out of that one on the cheap!

Then we came home and I let her rula hoop in her nightgown and bare feet in the driveway.  We also blew bubbles and generally had a good time.  She was ready for bed shortly after that and I fell asleep on the couch watching House Hunters.

Oh, and ReRe is fine.  Bruised up, banged up, road rash, sore but otherwise okay.  She spent the weekend at our house so we could help her out as needed.  She went home today.

  1. I LOVE that she picked the cherry instead of a new doll!
